Wow! It’s been forever since I’ve posted. I love Christmas and New Year’s but it is definitely the busiest time of the year for me. Yesterday I got to go to the Inauguration with my boss, Julio Melara, and his little girl, Hillary. What a great day! I’ve never been to an Inauguration - I really enjoyed it. We picked up Tim Brando and headed to the State Capitol. He was the master of ceremonies, and a sincerely nice guy with a great personality! The ceremony itself was awesome, starting off with my friend David St. Romain singing “America the Beautiful,” then elected state officials being sworn in, then some really great prayers for Bobby Jindal from some area pastors. Then of course, the swearing in of our NEW GOVERNOR!

I don’t know about you, but I am so grateful to everyone who voted for him. I think Louisiana is finally realizing and accepting that we NEED change. And I know that with Bobby’s leadership and his faith in God, that I, like many other young people, believe that Louisiana will one day be an all-around GREAT place to live. I pray that we get better roads/transportation, better education for the kids of Louisiana, and more options for entertainment. I’m excited about Louisiana’s future!

Oh, and to top it all off, Cooking for Christ, the cooking ministry at Healing Place Church, cooked and served over 2,200 plates of jambalaya!!  My dad and Mr. Larry did an awesome job of serving that many people.  The best part was when I saw two older women praying for my dad and the CFC ministry for the servanthood to the community.  AWESOME!  And if you didn’t know already, it’s the BEST jambalaya in Louisiana, maybe even in America!!

Here are a few pics from today!
