The perfect gentlemen

November 19, 2007

Last night, me, Emily and Jessica went to Corey and Boston’s for dinner and a movie.  This is the second time we’ve hung out with these guys and I have to say, they are the perfect gentlemen.  Corey, Grey, Boston, Kerry and Dell cooked us an incredible dinner!  We actually owed them a cooked dinner from last time but they insisted on cooking…chicken cordon blue, green beans wrapped in bacon, a corn casserole and bread!  It was so delicious!  Last time they cooked us steaks…and the best part is…they SERVED us our dinners!  We didn’t do anything…they wouldn’t let us…but we did bring dessert!  SMORES made with dark chocolate! Um…pretty much the greatest smores ever!

We always have a great time hanging with our new friends…they are really amazing guys.  And they have the coolest bachelor pad I’ve ever seen (they live in Red Stick Lofts)!  It’s very retro-modern with wood floors, granite countertops in the kitchen, 3 levels …complete with a pool table in the “dining area”, a basketball in the living room (the ceilings are really really high).  And I have to brag just a little and say that I beat 2 of the guys (I won’t say who I beat…wouldn’t want to embarass them! haha!) in a little game of horse!  It was fun!  And Emily and Jessica played pool…Em won!  Then we all watched a movie in their living room, which is just about as awesome as a movie theater…comfy sofas with a projector that shows the movie/tv on their wall…it’s as big as a movie screen! We had a blast, and it was a great end to a great weekend!  Thanks again guys!!  You ROCK!

So this past weekend, my company, 225 Magazine threw a tailgate party at Walk-Ons.  We had a blast…good food, good friends and a great band (thanks to Peter and Mark)!  The funniest part of the whole day came at the end of our party when there were only a few of us left.  As we were standing outside of the massive white tent where our party was held, 2 very very intoxicated girls walked by. One of them, as she’s walking by, asks, “Was there like a wedding here today?”  Um….no!  Are you kidding??  A wedding at Walk-ons on LSU game day…not hardly!  Gave us a great laugh though!

Here are a few pics from the party!  Thanks, Rolfe and Julio for a great time!!

And I was thinking how many times has our Saviour shielded or protected us from things that could harm us? I know He has pulled me out of situations that were not the best for me, to protect me from something, to prevent me from just having what’s “good” instead of what’s great – HIS best for me! What about you?

Live the Dream!

November 2, 2007

Well, the HPC Live the Dream Women’s conference is over, and all I can say is…

WOW! UNBELIEVABLE!! AMAZING!

It truly was the best conference I’ve been to…so I wanted to share with you a video of some of my friends dancing in the “singing bee.”  It was hilarious!  JP, Dustin, Jacob, Steve and Tyler all did a great job!  The girls went wild.  Goal accomplished!
